BEAR HUNTING

A Black Bear hunt in Montana's Bitterroot mountains is a great way to experience a spring hunt.  Montana does not allow baiting or the running of bear with dogs.  The bear hunting is conducted by driving the logging roads of the Bitter Root mountains and glassing the mountain slopes for foraging bears.  This area of western Montana produces both the black and cinnamon color phases of the black bear.
