COUGAR HUNTS

The Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana offers the hunter some of the finest western Mountain Lion hunting in Northern America. Cat population in our area are thriving due to the combination of the relative inaccessibility of the hunting area and an excellent management program by the Montana Department of Fish and Game. Hunting Mountain Lion in the snow behind a pack of well trained dogs is a hunt you will never forget. You will scout the mountain, logging trails by four wheel drives, looking for a fresh cat trail. Once a fresh trail is cut, the hounds are turned loose and the chase is on! We use trained lion dogs of Walker and Blue Tick bloodlines which produces an exciting and productive hunt! John Rose has 30 years experience hunting cats in the mountain states. Hunter success is high on these hunts with December and January being the prime hunting months.
